Wash it if you can
And make sure it is completely dry before it goes in the bag.

Pair shoes together
Keep sets and hardware with the piece they belong to.

Empty every pocket, drawer and bag
We find keys, cards and photographs more often than you would think.

Factory reset electronics
Sign out of your accounts. A locked device gets scrapped instead of reused.

Label the bag or box
And keep it out of the rain — a wet bag can ruin everything packed with it.
